Pharmaceutical Facility Steam Boiler | ||
Objective: To improve corporate footprint by eliminating chemical use in the treatment of the cooling tower condenser loop. The application of electrostatic water treatment was to de-scale and unplug condenser coils throughout the facility. In addition, treatment of two steam boilers was also implemented to improve thermo transfer and boiler efficiency ratings. Results: The successful elimination of cooling tower chemicals and improvement in the quality of the boiler water is evidenced by the above photo of the quarter in six inches of blow down water. The increased efficiency of the boilers from scale-free coils and better thermo transfer contributed greatly toward the 1.5 year payback. |
